Zillow Reviews 101
We all know reviews are incredibly important. For us, Zillow Reviews have allowed us to be at the top of a search list, without being a paid advertiser.
That’s right. Even thought we don’t pay, we STILL receive Zillow calls/emails and convert prospective sellers and buyers into clients. To date we have 250+ Zillow reviews, which organically, propels us to the top of the search results. When your review count is really high, you automatically rank high in the Agent Finder search results alongside PAYING advertisers! Consumers are more likely to contact you when you’re at the top, right?
We worked incredibly hard to get from less than 50 reviews in 2017 to where we are today. We want you to be successful too, so here is our tried and true checklist to GET THOSE REVIEWS!
Personalize your Profile: Don’t bust your butt obtaining reviews and have a lousy profile! Really tell your story and make it interesting to read. Don’t just talk about your brokerage and its cookie-cutter mission, talk about YOU. Make sure your profile picture is hi-res and up to date. Bonus if you add a Profile Video!
Ask Early and Often: Start asking for a Zillow review as soon as you’re done with inspections/resolutions and the deal is as good as done. Plant the seed early!
Text the Link: It’s closing day and the client didn’t complete one yet so text them the link that takes them directly to the Zillow review page. Convert it into a short URL (ex: bit.ly). The form is easy, fast and mobile-friendly and they will be more likely to complete it on the go.
Don’t Give Up: If still no submitted review after a week, pick up the phone. Ask them how it’s going, remind them of their great experience, ask for review and follow up right away with email/text instructions on how to complete it.
Offer Completion Incentives: Some of my clients took 6+ months to leave a review. This is why I have no shame in saying “for taking the time to do this, I will send you a $20 gift card.” Many times it’s the fire they need to get it done.
Everyone Counts: Currently Zillow only allows one review per address, per buyer/seller. If you happened to represent both sides of the transaction, you can ask each person to leave you a review!
No Transaction? No problem!: Don’t forget the people you’ve helped, even if it didn’t result in the sale or purchase of a home. We have this happen quite a bit with relocation clients. Sometimes the move just doesn’t happen. But they still experienced your services and can leave you a review!
